A post about nothing...

I don't have anything new to report except to share a few new pictures of Grayer...

Back in June my brother Rob came to visit us and brought Grayer a UGA sweatshirt. We have been having some cooler weather so Grayer got to wear it for the first time!
Thanks Uncle Rob -- GO BULLDOGS!!!

The other day we were playing at some friend's house and the little boy that Grayer was playing with bit him on the cheek and left this little beauty. Grayer was SO upset, it was really sad:( But in true "little kid" fashion they were buds again in no time and were hugging and kissing as we said goodbye! These pictures where taken the day after and it already looked so much better!

So that completes my post about nothin' much!!! Have a good day!

Niagara Falls

On Labor Day we jumped in the car and headed to Buffalo, NY for the day to do a little site seeing! We first went to the Zoo because it was $1.00 admission which was great! However, unfortunately everyone and their dog was their too, so our zoo trip was filled with seeing lots of people instead of lots of animals.

After the Zoo we went to see Niagara Falls. Wow, what an amazing sight, it was beautiful! For this quick trip we decided not to go over to Canada, but are looking forward to making a trip to Canada soon!

We ended to the day by going to Anchor Bar, the birthplace of Buffalo Wings!!

Here are a few pictures from our trip, I didn't even attempt to get the camera out at the Zoo, so these are only of us at the Falls!

This picture turned out cool because I think it looks like we are standing in front of a "green screen"

It was cool to see Canada just across the way :)

Grayer's NEW room

Grayer now sleeps in a BIG BOY bed!!!

Speaking as a well rested parent who wants to stay well rested we were reluctant to switch him out of a crib because he was sleeping SO good and NEVER tried to climb out of it!

So we thought, why fix what's not broken?!

But knowing we did need to eventually make the switch I kept my eye out for new bedding. I found this set from Pottery Barn and absolutely fell in love with it (minus the football sheets and pillow).

I showed it to my Mom and she being the awesome Mom she is offered to make the bedding so it would be cheaper than buying it. So using the above picture as a guide she put together an even cuter bed set!! She did an AMAZING job and I love how it turned out, and it's extra special because now Grayer has a room that was made by his Grandma Christensen, Grandma Gilchrist, Aunt Molli, and Mommy.
(We all helped quilt the bedspread!)

So without further adieu I give you Grayer's New Room......
Isn't it so cute?
We found the headboard and footboard on the side of the rode put out for trash, so we picked it up and repainted it

Pillows made by Me and my Mom (she did the two with the stars and I did the two with the stripes)

I made a new valance out of left over fabric

We inherited this book shelf from a friend and repainted it

We found this metal "Lightning McQueen" sign at a summer festival here in Rochester and Grayer absolutely fell in love with it. So even though it is not my favorite thing in the world Grayer is super happy to have Lighting on his wall:)

I found these alphabet photos and thought they were neat

And here is Grayer absolutely loving his new bed!! We set up his room while he was taking a nap on the couch, and so when he woke up we told him that we had a present for him in his room. He was very surprised to find his crib gone, but he doesn't seem to mind too much, seeing that every time he walks into his room he runs over to his bed and says "present" and proceeds to climb up and jump on it! He has slept really well on it too, he doesn't get off and goes right to sleep! The only change that has come of this is, he wakes up earlier. I think he probably woke up at the same time when he was in his crib but because he couldn't get out he would fall right back to sleep, but now that he can get in and out of bed he takes full advantage of waking up early!

Thanks to all who helped make Grayer's New Room!!!

Ontario Lake

This week we took our first trip to Ontario Lake. It was a nice warm day and we thought we could get in some more swimming before summer is over.
Unfortunately, the night before there were some bad rain storms which caused the water to be really choppy and kick up a bunch of gunk, so the beach was closed for swimming.
We were bummed but we still had a good time walking out to the pier, and playing in the sand!
Hopefully the weather will stay good and we can go back for a swim, we've heard the water is warm, which is a huge plus!!

Red Wings Game

Last weekend we went to the Rochester Red Wings baseball game.....Yes, you read that right, THE GILCHRIST FAMILY WENT TO A SPORTING EVENT, so you can pick your chins up from off the ground now:)!!!

Actually, we had tons of fun! It happened to be "BYU Alumni" night so a couple from our ward got all the tickets and a bunch of us from our ward went to the game together! There quite a few people there not only from our ward but other wards too, so needless to say the people that walk around and sell Beer didn't do so well in our section!!

The "BYU Alumni" section

Andy was trying to teach Grayer the Filipino sign for "good lookin"

Oops, Grayer's eyes were shut, oh well!

We had a great night... good company, the Red Wings won, and as a bonus there was a firework show after the game!

Grayer wanted to get some "ice peam" (ice cream) at the game but we opted for something cheaper and went to McDonald's for a cone after the game!

Just the Right Size!?!

Apparently Grayer is having a hard time finding glasses that are just his size!

The KING

This morning Grayer and I were playing with his blocks,

he held up this one and said... "Daddy"

Andy and I had a good laugh!!!
