Poor Grayer, today was definitely NOT his day!!! Little did he know what he was in for when he woke up this morning, and let me tell you he looks like he has been through a war! Unfortunately not all of it was self inflicted (his parents might have had some part in it)...
ACCIDENT #1It all started at church after sacrament meeting. We were up on the stand and I turned my back for just a second and he darted for the stairs and proceeded to try and walk down them. Unsuccessful, he tripped, fell, and skidded face first down the stairs. So with a big carpet burn above his eye I picked up my screaming child and shamefully walked out of the chapel.
ACCIDENT #2Next, we took him to nursery. Yes, I know he is not old enough yet but usually either Andy or I stay with him while the other goes to class which allows at least one of us to get something out of church. Otherwise we just end up chasing him all over the room trying to keep him quiet. Okay, you get the picture, one year olds aren't the greatest at sitting still through church!! Well, today the nursery leader told us that we could leave him because he plays so well and doesn't seem to care whether we are there or not, so we gave it a shot!!! Everything went great until he fell and hit his lip on a toy which cut the inside of his lip open. So Andy comes and gets me out of Young Womens with Grayer crying and his lip bleeding profusely.
ACCIDENT #3 and #4 After church we are home making dinner and I open the fridge not knowing that Grayer is standing within range and I whack his head with the refrigerator door. Ten minutes later Andy changes Grayer's diaper and when walking out of the room, holding Grayer in his arms, accidentally rams his head right into the door frame!!! Result - TWO cries of pain!
ACCIDENT #5While we are eating dinner Andrew has the Tabasco Sauce out and Grayer gets a hold of the bottle. We didn't rush to take it away from him because we thought the lid was on tight and knew he couldn't do much damage with it. Well, the next thing we knew he had the lid off and was drinking the Tabasco Sauce! He started screaming and we could tell his mouth and lips were on fire because everything turned bright red. Oh and don't forget, he has a cut on his lip which of course does not feel good with the Tabasco Sauce in it!!!
ACCIDENT #6At this point Andy and I were feeling so bad for our little man but just couldn't help chuckle a little bit as we thought back over all of the accidents he had been in today. So we decided we needed to put him out of his misery by putting him to bed, BUT... after I got him all ready for bed and I was putting his clothes away Grayer decided he hadn't had enough and slammed his fingers in a cupboard door. Oh the irony!!
THE END and GOOD NIGHT!!!
p.s. There are no pictures to prove any of this so you can't report us to child services!! We will deny everything!!
