THE DECISION!!

Andy keeps asking me when I am going to blog about our latest news, and I must admit I have been procrastinating this post because it means that I must face the "change" that will shortly happen in our lives!

We are moving to Rochester, NEW YORK!!!

Andrew got accepted to Eastman School of Music, where he will continue in music and receive his Doctorate!
Currently Eastman is tied for 1st as the top music school in the Nation!!! So we are very honored to have been accepted to such a prestigious and competitive school.
I am so very proud of Andrew, he is extremely talented and he deserves this wonderful opportunity.
We will probably be moving sometime in August, and we are both very excited about this new adventure! Yes, I am a little apprehensive about moving to a new place, but just like when we moved here to Knoxville we will get adjusted and make wonderful friends! Wish Us Luck!!!!

Won't My Mommy be so Proud of Me!?!

My dear mother has definitely rubbed off on me when it comes to keeping my house clean!! She taught me well and I am proud to tell her that my Spring Cleaning has officially been completed!
It took about a week to do it all but my checklist has been checked and I am DONE!!!
Now if only my house would stay this clean....
  • Base Boards Washed
  • Corners and Edges of Carpet Vacuumed
  • Doors and Door Knobs Washed
  • Cupboards Organized
  • Cupboards Wiped out and Washed Down
  • Closets Gone Through and Organized
  • Windows and Window Sills Washed
  • Vents Dusted
  • Walls Washed
  • Fridge Cleaned
Did I miss anything? I sure hope not because I am sick of cleaning!! But I sure love the reward of having an EXTRA clean home! Now I guess I will just have to wait until Grayer is old enough to help me clean so I can pass on the torch of his Grandma Christensen's special cleaning powers!!
Right now this is how he helps me clean... not very helpful but stinkin' cute!!!

HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE!!!

p.s. Mom I must admit, I did not wash out the garbage cans - sorry!! I'm not sure if that will ever be apart of my Spring Cleaning!!!
Love you Mom, thanks for everything you taught me!!!

FUN PICTURES!

This week I have gotten some cute pictures of Grayer and just wanted to share...

What happens when Mom forgets about her open yogurt that was left on the end table!!

I haven't taken any pictures of Grayer in the bath since he was a little baby!

Trying on Mom's pink shoes!!

Tired little guy fell asleep while playing with his toys. He had never done this before so I had to get pictures!!

Children's Museum

Last week Grayer and I had the opportunity to go and visit my sister, Megan, and her family in Bloomington, Indiana. Unfortunately, Andrew couldn't join us because he had his Comprehensive Final Exams for school, which required him to research and write 3 ten page papers in a week. Actually, that was the reason why Grayer and I took the trip, I knew that with all the work that Andy needed to get done it would be best for him to have the house to himself without us as a distraction!
As usual we had LOTS and LOTS of fun in Indiana, but the highlight of the trip was our visit to the Children's Museum in Indianapolis!!!! I was so excited to go because I had never been but had heard raves about its awesomeness!!! And let me tell you I was not disappointed and neither was Grayer!! We ended up staying for almost 5 hours and only left because we were exhausted not because we had seen everything there was to see!!

WHAT A DAY!!!

Poor Grayer, today was definitely NOT his day!!! Little did he know what he was in for when he woke up this morning, and let me tell you he looks like he has been through a war! Unfortunately not all of it was self inflicted (his parents might have had some part in it)...
ACCIDENT #1
It all started at church after sacrament meeting. We were up on the stand and I turned my back for just a second and he darted for the stairs and proceeded to try and walk down them. Unsuccessful, he tripped, fell, and skidded face first down the stairs. So with a big carpet burn above his eye I picked up my screaming child and shamefully walked out of the chapel.
ACCIDENT #2
Next, we took him to nursery. Yes, I know he is not old enough yet but usually either Andy or I stay with him while the other goes to class which allows at least one of us to get something out of church. Otherwise we just end up chasing him all over the room trying to keep him quiet. Okay, you get the picture, one year olds aren't the greatest at sitting still through church!! Well, today the nursery leader told us that we could leave him because he plays so well and doesn't seem to care whether we are there or not, so we gave it a shot!!! Everything went great until he fell and hit his lip on a toy which cut the inside of his lip open. So Andy comes and gets me out of Young Womens with Grayer crying and his lip bleeding profusely.
ACCIDENT #3 and #4
After church we are home making dinner and I open the fridge not knowing that Grayer is standing within range and I whack his head with the refrigerator door. Ten minutes later Andy changes Grayer's diaper and when walking out of the room, holding Grayer in his arms, accidentally rams his head right into the door frame!!! Result - TWO cries of pain!
ACCIDENT #5
While we are eating dinner Andrew has the Tabasco Sauce out and Grayer gets a hold of the bottle. We didn't rush to take it away from him because we thought the lid was on tight and knew he couldn't do much damage with it. Well, the next thing we knew he had the lid off and was drinking the Tabasco Sauce! He started screaming and we could tell his mouth and lips were on fire because everything turned bright red. Oh and don't forget, he has a cut on his lip which of course does not feel good with the Tabasco Sauce in it!!!
ACCIDENT #6
At this point Andy and I were feeling so bad for our little man but just couldn't help chuckle a little bit as we thought back over all of the accidents he had been in today. So we decided we needed to put him out of his misery by putting him to bed, BUT... after I got him all ready for bed and I was putting his clothes away Grayer decided he hadn't had enough and slammed his fingers in a cupboard door. Oh the irony!!

THE END and GOOD NIGHT!!!

p.s. There are no pictures to prove any of this so you can't report us to child services!! We will deny everything!!

COoL DuDE!!

Grayer has these awesome blue sunglasses that he absolutely loves! He thinks it is so funny when we put them on him! So with crazy hair and blue sunglasses I thought this was too cute!! (Yes, he is wearing his Christmas p.j.'s!)

He also has just recently learned how to wave "Hi" and "Bye." It is so fun to watch him learn new things!
So mostly for the Grandparents, but for ALL to enjoy, a quick snippet of Grayer's new waving skills.... Enjoy!!

WHAT'S NEXT?

Well, it's decision time again!! The BIG question: What should we do with our lives?
Andrew graduates in May with his Masters in Music and we are still trying to decide what will come next. He/we basically have 3 options...
Listed in no particular order:
1) Continue in Music with Doctoral work at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.
2) Change directions completely and go to Law School which could land us anywhere in the country like New York, Connecticut, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Arkansas, Michigan, Ohio, California, and etc...
3) Teach music full time at BYU-Idaho.
So here is our dilemma, we can't make a final decision yet because we are still waiting to hear from all three! - BAHH!! We are slowly going crazy!!
So we are still playing the waiting game but I just wanted to give everyone an update on what could be in store for us!!! We'll keep you posted!!!
